Grace Park has been cast for the new television remake of “Hawaii Five-O.”  Grace Park will play Kono Kalakaua, the neice of Detective Chin Ho Kelly – a role filled by LOST actor Daniel Dae Kim.  According to Hollywood Reporter, Kono is a “beautiful and smart champion surfer who is about to graduate from the police academy when McGarrett recruits her to join his team.”  It’s good to see the beautiful Grace Park back on television.  She had a great stint on Battlestar Galactica where she built a great following.

Daul Kim was found dead this week in her Paris apartment from an apparent suicide. She was only 20 years old. Daul Kim was the most prominent Korean born model walking the catwalk around the world. Her career was soaring and being called on to model from Chanel to Alexander McQueen. Based on her recent blog entries, her mood had begun to spiral downward. In a November 5th entry, she wrote “I already accepted that I relate to nothing. The more I gain the more lonely it is… I know I’m like a ghost.” Raised in Seoul and Singapore, Daul Kim modelled in Asia before making her fashion week debut in Paris in 2007. She was recently spotted at Seoul’s fashion week in October. And now she has passed away at the young tender age of 20. R.I.P. Daul.

From New York magazine who profiled Daul not to long ago. As the fashion world reels from the news of model Daul Kim’s untimely death, we at the Cut will always remember her for the amazing videos she compiled during Fashion Week. Off the cuff, funny, and personal, they gave us a glimpse not only into the model life, but also into Daul’s life. While it’s hard to say good-bye to someone so beloved by an industry, we can at least look back fondly at what she left behind. R.I.P., Daul.

jennifer-an-next-top-modelJennifer An was one of the first contestants to be under 5’7″ on America’s Next Top Model and she almost won it by outlasting almost everyone in the competition until this past week when she was finally eliminated.  Damn!  The girl from Philly who stands a tall 5’5″ got great reviews throughout the competition and she also happened to be the oldest contestant (23 yo).  A couple years back, she wrote to Tyra Banks, asking her to allow girls under 5’7″ to be considered for the show and Jennifer An became the first to do so and she almost won it!  We wish her the best as she pursues her career in New York City.

You can see an interview she did with her hometown (Philly) TV network.
