Just announced, Hooni Kim of NYC’s Danji will be one of the recipients of the 2011 Rising Star Awards. After working at Daniel and Masa, Hooni Kim decided to open up his own restaurant that serves upscale traditional and modern Korean-inspired dishes.

Danji is an intimate restaurant with only 36 seats and its portions are small and meant to be shared, tapas-style. Notable dishes on Danji’s menu include kimchi bacon paella with a sunnyside-up egg, pork belly sliders, and tofu with ginger scallion dressing.

You can purchase tickets to the October 4 Rising Stars Revue at Bar Basque in NYC, which will provide tasting samples from all of the winners.
