If I can give you any advice when it comes to skin care, it’s this.

WEAR SUNBLOCK.

Having lived in L.A. for a month (where it’s sunny every day), I’m amazed at how many people don’t wear sunblock. EVERYONE  (Men, Women, Children) should wear sunblock every day, no matter where you live.

It only takes a few seconds, but will give your skin protection from the harsh environment, protect you from cancer, and slow the aging process down (Sun Spots, Wrinkles, Leathery Skin).

Koreans are all about Skin Lighteners and Whiteners….  Don’t buy expensive creams and treatments to get rid of sun spots and wrinkles.  PREVENT THEM! It’s all about PREVENTION and not TREATMENT. Once the damage is done, good luck trying to turn back the clock!

I don’t recommend anything less than SPF 20, but I highly suggest everyone wear at least SPF 30 daily. Yes. EVERY DAY.  Even when it’s not sunny out, you can still get the effects of the sun’s harmful rays.

My favorite sunblocks are light formulas that don’t feel greasy.

I recommend Tinted Moisturizers with SPF,  Sunblock Lotions that go on smoothly, and/or Powder with SPF. Apply generously!

Find out which products work best for you.  There are tons to choose from but here are the ones I use:

Tinted Moisturizers: Josie Maran (SPF 30), Lancome (SPF 20), Laura Mercier (SPF 20), and Hourglass (SPF 15).  For the last three, I would recommend also using an SPF powder to set.

Sunblock Lotions: Clarins UV Plus (SPF 40), Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch (SPF 55, 70, and 85), and Make Up For Ever UV Prime

Powder: Shiseido Sun Protection Compact Foundation (SPF 34), Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral Powder (SPF 45), Bare Escentuals SPF 30 Natural Sunscreen.
* I don’t like the packaging of the Peter Thomas Roth, and I haven’t used the Bare Escentuals too much… but I think they get the job done.

Sunscreen for the Body: I use both the Liquid and Spray Sunblock. I usually buy Neutrogena, Banana Boat, or Coopertone. Pretty much whatever’s on sale.  I always get at least SPF 50-75~ I still end up with a nice tan during the summer (Can you imagine how harmful it is when you don’t put anything on?!?)

And throw out the bottle that’s been sitting in your closet for however long.  You should buy a new bottle of sun screen every year. Write the date on the bottom so you know how old it is!

So I hope this has been helpful.  Let me know if you have any other questions and what your favorite sunscreens are!

And if I still haven’t motivated you to wear Sun Protection every day, think of Magda from There’s Something About Mary

*~ Have a Beautiful Day! ~*
