One of the biggest surprise documentaries in 2007 was Benson Lee’s “Planet B-Boy” which chronicled the world of break dancing.  According to different media outlets, it looks like Benson Lee has been given the green light from Screen Gems to turn Planet B-Boy into a feature film.  If you haven’t seen it then you should log into your Netflix account and order it.  The documentary shows the evolution of break dancing into what is now termed “b-boying.”  Basically it’s break dancing on steroids with much more acrobatic and dangerous dance moves.  Though the roots of break dancing come from the streets of New York, the documentary reveals that there are many b-boy groups performing on the subways and on the streets.  It’s even made its way to South Korea and is growing in popularity.  We’re definitely looking forward to seeing Benson’s feature film on b-boying.
